What is a digital archive? What is a microsite? How can we subvert the terms? Join us as we explore the processes of digitization and collection. Participants will create a printed reader for the Berkeley Art Museum's Reading Room and leave with a website showcasing curated content. No previous coding experience necessary.

  • 1:30–1:45 — Mindy explains the definition of Archival Microsites & shows examples
  • 1:00–2:00 — Jon introduces basic mark-up and runs through Github
  • 2:00–4:30 — Students gather content, digitize, mark-up
  • 4:30–4:45 — Jon talks about CSS
  • 4:45–5:00 — Mindy talks about Web to Print & shows examples

At home

  • Style your archival microsites using CSS
  • Print your websites and bind in your given folders
